Rake Up Boise
Rake Up Boise: Community, Care, and Connection Through Service
Each November, Andersen Construction’s Boise office comes together to volunteer with Rake Up Boise, helping older, disabled, and veteran neighbors with fall yard cleanup — a meaningful tradition that brings our team closer to the heart of our community.
Location: Boise, Washington
The Mission
Rake Up Boise is more than just a leaf-raking event — it's a long-standing expression of “neighbors helping neighbors.” Thousands of volunteers from local businesses, schools, congregations, and neighborhoods join each year to assist those who may struggle with yard upkeep due to age, disability, or limited resources.
By removing leaves and debris, the program not only supports safety and dignity for participants but also builds community pride and recycles biodegradable waste.

The Project
Every year, our Boise team joins the larger Rake Up Boise effort, forming volunteer crews to tackle yards in need. On Rake Up Boise day, these teams rake leaves, fill dozens of bags, and help restore outdoor spaces for seniors, veterans, and people with disabilities.
This work aligns closely with the Andersen Foundation’s purpose — to be generous and improve lives through building relationships, connecting communities, and constructing (or in this case, restoring) environments to serve people where we can be impactful. Our participation helps preserve neighborhood safety, fosters intergenerational connection, and supports community resilience, all while giving our employees a hands-on way to serve where they live.
