Camp Rainbow Gold

Camp Rainbow Gold Stateside Project: Building Hope, Healing, and Community

This summer, Andersen Construction volunteers came together to build a brand-new 200-seat amphitheater at Camp Rainbow Gold’s Hidden Paradise, Idaho’s only medical camp for children living with cancer. The new space, designed for connection and celebration, will serve more than 1,500 campers, families, and visitors each year — creating a place where stories, songs, and memories can be shared under the open Idaho sky.

Location:
Fairfield, Idaho

The Mission

Founded more than 40 years ago, Camp Rainbow Gold provides children diagnosed with cancer—and their families—a place to heal, connect, and find joy away from medical settings. What began in the mid-1980s as a weeklong summer camp has grown into a year-round support community serving more than 400 Idaho families through camps, retreats, and outreach programs.

Operating out of its 172-acre site called Hidden Paradise, the organization also welcomes groups supporting children and families facing medical challenges, including muscular dystrophy, epilepsy, and limb differences.

The Project

As part of Andersen’s ongoing commitment to build spaces that bring people together, our team dedicated time, materials, and skill to design and construct a 200-seat amphitheater at Camp Rainbow Gold’s Hidden Paradise.

Built with care and craftsmanship, the amphitheater provides a permanent gathering space where campers and families can enjoy performances, campfires, and celebrations in a setting surrounded by nature. It’s a space created to foster laughter, connection, and the kind of healing only found in community.

Beyond the build, the project reflects Andersen’s belief that construction is about more than structures — it’s about creating places where people belong, hope grows, and joy continues to be built year after year.
