Girls Build: Inspiring Girls to Build a Future of Possibilities
Through volunteer work, material donations, and more, we help Girls Build host summer camps and workshops to teach building skills to young girls.
The Mission
Girls Build is a non-profit organization based in Portland, Oregon, inspiring curiosity and confidence in girls through the world of building.
Our Partnership
Our partnership with Girls Build began in 2016—we were the first foundation to donate to their mission, and they were one of the first nonprofits the Andersen Foundation supported.
Since then, we’ve donated thousands of dollars, hundreds of hours of volunteer time, building materials.
Among the ways we love to show up for Girls Build are:
Sponsoring skilled women from the Andersen Construction team to serve as instructors at Girls Build summer camps
Donating material deliveries from our warehouse team and skilled labor from our experienced carpenters
Partnering to put on a camp in Seattle using the resources from our region
Helping them expand their summer camps to girls in the Boise region in 2025
Making Girls Build the beneficiary of multiple golf tournament events
Donating popsicles, cookies, and other treats for summer camps
Today, Girls Build remains one of our most trusted local nonprofit partners. In addition to creating consistently innovative, thoughtful programming that aligns strongly with our values, Girls Build prioritizes supporting young girls from underserved communities through outreach, scholarships, and more. Together, we’re furthering our mission of supporting building skills for women and girls—and creating a more diverse future workforce in our industry.

“The Andersen Foundation has been a critical part of Girls Build’s growth journey. From being our first funder to the small but important things, like prepping materials or moving the playhouses we build, they are always ready to help. I can’t imagine Girls Build being where we are today without Andersen.”
