Old Mill Center for Families and Children: Supporting Children, Strengthening Families

We partnered with the Old Mill Center for Families and Children to support their mission of helping children and families heal, grow, and thrive. Through a combination of event sponsorship and in-kind support, our team is proud to contribute to safe, engaging spaces where children can learn, play, and feel supported.

The Mission

The Old Mill Center for Families and Children is a nonprofit organization serving Linn and Benton Counties, providing critical child and family services including relief nursery care, family support, and therapeutic programs. Their work focuses on preventing child abuse and neglect, strengthening families, and promoting healthy early childhood development.

Our Partnership

Our partnership with the Old Mill Center for Families and Children reflects a shared commitment to children, learning, and community. Andersen Construction was proud to support the installation of interactive, musical sculptures on the Old Mill Center playground, helping bring a donor-funded vision to life through hands-on, in-kind volunteer service.

Special donors Michael and Burmah Rainbolt gifted two kinetic musical sculptures—a butterfly and a flower. Andersen volunteers assembled the sculptures, dug post holes, mixed and poured concrete, set the units, and ensured all elements were secure and safe for children. These playful additions create engaging, joyful spaces for children to explore and learn, with another installation planned for the Relief Nursery classroom in Monroe. In addition to this in-kind support, we were proud to sponsor a fundraising event benefiting the Old Mill Center’s critical child and family programs, further supporting their mission across Linn and Benton Counties.

“After the Andersen Construction volunteers finished the installation, it truly looked as if the sculptures had sprouted up on their own—ready for children to discover a new musical adventure the very next morning.”
